Find and fix broken links

URL Validation

URL Validation crawls your website to find broken links, redirects, and SEO issues. It checks every link on every page and gives you a health score so you know what to fix first.

What URL Validation does

URL Validation visits every page on your website and checks every link — internal and external. It finds broken links (404 errors), server errors, redirects, and slow pages.

Each domain gets a health score from 0 to 100 based on the percentage of healthy links.

On Professional plans and above, it also audits your pages for SEO issues — missing titles, missing meta descriptions, missing H1 tags, images without alt text, and more.

Adding a domain

Go to your URL Validation dashboard and click "Add Domain."

Enter a name, your domain, and the base URL to start crawling from.

Choose your scan depth — how many levels of links to follow. A depth of 3 covers most small to medium sites.

Toggle auto-discover on if you want the scanner to find all pages automatically.

Running a scan

Scans can run manually (click the scan button on your domain) or on a schedule — monthly, weekly, or daily depending on your plan.

During a scan, the crawler visits every page up to your configured depth and checks every link it finds.

When the scan finishes, your results appear on the domain detail page.

Reading your results

Your domain detail page has four tabs: Overview, Internal Links, External Links, and Scan History.

The Overview tab shows your health score, total URLs, how many are healthy, broken, or redirected, and your SEO summary.

Internal Links shows every page on your site with its HTTP status, response time, and SEO score. You can see which pages are missing titles, descriptions, or H1 tags.

External Links shows every outgoing link with its status and risk assessment.

Scan History shows every scan you have run, with counts of URLs checked, broken links found, and new or removed pages.

Reports

The Reports tab offers four report types: Scan Summary, Broken Links, Domain Health, and Healing Log.

Select a date range and download reports to share with clients or your development team.

Tips

1

Run a full scan after making big changes to your site, like moving pages or updating your navigation.

2

Fix 404 errors first. Broken links hurt your search rankings and frustrate visitors.

3

Set up weekly scans to catch new broken links as your site changes over time.

4

Use the External Links tab to find links to third-party sites that have gone down.

Common questions

How long does a scan take?

It depends on the size of your site and your scan depth. A 100-page site takes a few minutes. A 10,000-page site can take up to an hour.

Will the scan slow down my site?

No. The scanner crawls at a controlled speed so it does not affect your site performance for real visitors.

What is the health score?

The health score is the percentage of healthy links on your site. A score of 95 means 95% of your links are working correctly.
